I was wondering the other day how many unspent transaction outputs there are ?
If you just keep track of the unspent transaction outputs you could import private keys, know its balance and perform spends. How much data is this compared to the full blockchain ?
The biggest downside is that you would not have the full transaction list for a private key/address – just the transactions that you can use for future transaction inputs.
Mt. Gox’s sign-up page states:

Are there other exchanges which do not have such a restriction (e.g. for transfers and account balances below $1K USD for instance?)
It has been mentioned a couple times here and there that Len Sassaman was memorialised somewhere in the Block Chain. I was able to find a dump of of the tribute to him, but I can’t seem to find where in the Chain did this tribute come from.
What are the Blocks/Transactions that contain the tribute to Len Sassaman?
The orphaned blocks view from BlockChain.info shows a recent fork of the blockchain (starting with block 173,928) that went four blocks long before being orphaned.
Other than the controlled rewind following the Value Overflow bug in August 2010 in which 53 blocks were orphaned, is there a fork of blocks orphaned as long or longer than this one that occurred at 173,928?
